How to care for jade plant
- Light: Prefers at least 4-6 hours of bright, direct sunlight daily. Can tolerate some partial shade but may become leggy.
- Water: Water thoroughly when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry to the touch. Reduce watering significantly in winter.
- Soil: Needs a well-draining succulent or cactus mix. Amend with perlite or coarse sand for better drainage.
- Temperature: Thrives in average room temperatures of 65-75°F (18-24°C). Protect from temperatures below 50°F (10°C).
- Humidity: Tolerates average indoor humidity; does not require special humidity conditions.
- Fertilizer: Fertilize every 2-4 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength.
- Propagation: Easily propagated from stem or leaf cuttings. Allow cuttings to callus for a few days before planting in moist soil.
