The short answer
Yellow pothos leaves can result from overwatering, underwatering, low light, or normal aging. Check the soil and recent care changes before deciding on a treatment.
Why this happens
One older yellow leaf is often normal. Several yellow leaves together, especially with wet soil and soft stems, suggest a root problem. Dry soil and limp leaves point toward dehydration instead.
What to do
- Check moisture deeper than the surface.
- Make sure the pot drains and is not standing in water.
- Inspect both sides of leaves for insects.
- Remove fully yellow leaves and monitor new growth after adjusting care.
Keep in mind
Yellowing is a symptom, not a diagnosis. Fertilizer is not a universal cure and may stress damaged roots.
