Is zz plant safe for pets?
Not pet-safe. Toxic to cats, dogs and people if eaten (calcium oxalate). See our guide to toxic plants for cats and dogs.
Common problems and fixes
- Yellow stems: Overwatering. Check the rhizomes for rot and water less often.
- Slow or no growth: This is normal in low light. Brighter indirect light speeds it up.
